Protect the Pollinators That Help Feed America

We operate the Observation Hive in Schools program now. Donations fund live, enclosed hive visits to K–14 classrooms, hands-on lessons led by trained beekeepers, teacher training with ready-to-use materials, and classroom pollinator kits (models, seeds, and activity guides). Your support also covers safety gear, hive maintenance, and transportation so we can reach more schools and help students see how bees pollinate and why they matter.

We deliver Youth Pollinator Kits to scouting groups, 4-H clubs, and school clubs right now. Each kit includes hands-on educational materials (lesson cards, bee ID guides, activity sheets), simple demo tools used with a mentor visit, and habitat supplies like native wildflower seeds—everything needed to run safe, engaging sessions about bees and conservation. Your support equips youth leaders, pairs them with our beekeeper mentors when available, and helps young people take real, responsible action for pollinators.

We support schools in establishing pollinator gardens by providing grants for the purchase of native plants, bee-friendly flowers, and educational materials. These gardens not only contribute to the well-being of bees but also serve as outdoor classrooms where students can learn about pollinators, ecosystems, and sustainable gardening practices. 

We continue to organize and fund beekeeping workshops in local communities, targeting all age groups. Workshops cover basic beekeeping skills, the importance of bees in the ecosystem, and sustainable practices. Grants help cover the cost of workshop materials, speakers, and necessary equipment.

We run a Beekeeper Mentorship Program that pairs experienced local beekeepers with schools and youth groups. Donations cover mentor stipends, classroom-ready materials, basic beekeeping supplies for demos, and structured training so educators can keep the learning going. With ongoing check-ins and support, each site builds a sustainable, long-term pollinator education effort—not just a one-time visit.

This grant initiative encourages schools to integrate art projects focused on bees and other pollinators into their curricula. Grants cover art supplies, workshops, and the creation of educational materials. The resulting artwork is to be showcased in the community to raise awareness about the importance of bees and the need for conservation.

We help schools build and care for solitary-bee habitats right now. Donations fund native wildflower plantings, pesticide-free garden practices, and the installation of mason-bee houses/Bumbleboxes with simple, student-friendly care guides. We provide seasonal checklists, maintenance supplies, and activity logs so classes can monitor nesting and learn by doing—creating healthy, lasting habitat for native pollinators on campus.

We support schools and partner organizations with mini-grants and hands-on guidance to adopt proven pollinator education technology now. Donations help cover licenses and setup for interactive apps, virtual and augmented reality field trips, and online courses, plus brief teacher training so tools plug into existing lessons. We focus on accessible, classroom-ready options and share implementation tips so students engage deeply with bee biology, pollination, and real-world conservation actions.
